Today’s episode is about gratitude and how it can change your life. If you start the day with a grateful heart, it will set the rest of your day up for success. Focusing on gratefulness shifts your focus from what’s lacking to what’s already enough.

Here are five reasons a focus on gratitude can change your whole life:

  1. It redirects your attention. Gratitude trains your mind to scan for what is working, what is safe and what is already beautiful instead of scarcity and stress.

  2. It calms your nervous system. It triggers your rest and restore mode and helps you feel safe and regulated. This can help you respond. Not react.

  3. It shuts up your inner critic. We all have one. That inner voice that sometimes just won’t shut up. Focusing on what you appreciate about you, your life, and your relationships will make you less likely to spiral into self-doubt and comparing your life to others.

  4. It creates emotional momentum. Grateful energy snowballs. If you focus on each present moment with more patience, it will help quiet your need to perform.

  5. It helps you let go. A grateful attitude can help you stop trying to fix and put down things that aren’t meant for you to carry.
